The Wisdom and Fear of the Lord link:
Pro 2:1 My son, if you wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments within you;
Pro 2:2 So that you incline your ear unto wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding;
Pro 2:3 Yea, if you cry after knowledge, and lift up your voice for understanding;
Pro 2:4 If you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hid treasures;
Pro 2:5 Then shalt you understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.
Pro 2:6 For the LORD gives wisdom: [and] out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding.
One thing that is absent in our generation is the fear of the Lord (which is also the beginning of wisdom)…Proverbs also says that you will only understand the Fear of the Lord when you are pursuing wisdom….it’s a cycle: you fear the Lord, You get wisdom – you get wisdom, you understand the fear of the Lord…
- The Wisdom and Righteousness link:
Pro 2:7 He lays up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.
Pro 2:8 He keeps the paths of judgment, and preserves the way of his saints.
Pro 2:9 Then shalt you understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path.
Pro 2:10 When wisdom enters into your heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto your soul;
There are some certain wisdoms you can only gain when you are righteous, but you will understand righteousness, judgement, and equity and every good path ONLY WHEN wisdom enters your heart, and knowledge is pleasant to your soul…it’s a cycle…wisdom will make you righteous (right standing with the Lord) – but righteousness will make you gain higher levels of wisdom
This reminds me of Job 28. Job talks about how mankind know so many things. They know where to find silver and gold, and how to extract it, but no one knows where wisdom and understanding is. Man knows how to cut out holes in rocks, but who can find wisdom and understanding?
He then goes on in say:
Job 28:23 God knows its (wisdom) way, and He knows its place.
Job 28:24 For He looks to the ends of the earth, and sees under all the heavens;
Job 28:27 …He saw it, and declared it; He prepared it, and He also searched it out..
And finally:
Job 28:28 And to man He said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom! And to turn from evil is understanding.
We have a new trinity here: wisdom – righteousness – the fear of the Lord
